AWS Systems Administrator
An AWS Systems Administrator position in Pasadena, CA recently opened up to support JPL/NASA. In this role, you will maintain, integrate and implement software applications within the organization, and coordinate software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, and support to ensure smooth, stable, and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications. To be considered for this role, you must have experience with Amazon Web Services, Linux, and RedHat and experience with agile software development management platforms. You must also be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Pay Rate: $31.60/hr - 58.52/hr DOE
Duration: 18 months
Flexible work schedule: 9/80 (can be remote)

Responsibilities:
Enterprise Systems Analyst who maintains, integrates and implements software applications within the organization, and coordinates software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications. This role ensures proper controls are established and maintained over test and production systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Monitor and maintain live Enterprise Systems applications and integrations using technologies in Amazon Web Services
Take responsibility for the updating and reviewing of current solutions to ensure compliance from both a solution and security perspective to ensure solutions remain intact, accurate and fit for use
Participate in the design, building and testing of new solutions for the Enterprise Systems
Work alongside other teams such as Technical, Functional, Engineering, Scientific SME's to troubleshoot issues within the Enterprise systems
Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards
Requires in-depth knowledge and experience, 2 years experience minimum, with Enterprise Systems concepts, practices and procedures
Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services
May be responsible for drafting user guides and beta testing pre-release systems
Evaluates end user needs, client goals, budgets and existing applications to define system requirements and technical standards
Continually seek to standardize and improve processes into a centralized system architecture
Requirements:
2+ years with Amazon Web Services
2+ years with Linux (Amazon Linux, RedHat, CentOS) and Windows Server
Working knowledge of operation and administration for Agile software development management platforms (e.g., Atlassian Jira)
Familiarity with AWS Shared Responsibility Model
Proficiency with shell scripting language
Working knowledge with:
CI/CD pipelines and associated products (e.g., Jenkins)
Test case management like Testrail, Technical Peer Review like Collaborator, static code analysis like SonarQube and API development management like SwaggerHub
Working knowledge with containers and container orchestration environments (e.g., Docker, Docker-Compose, Kubernetes and Helm)
Familiar with modern Configuration Management tools including but not limited to AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet and Ansible
Working knowledge of process orchestration approaches and products (e.g., Digital.ai Release)
Working knowledge of git and usage of GitHub Enterprise Server
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with agile software development methodology
Self-starter, proactive, always on the lookout for improvements
Good interpersonal and collaboration skills
Works with a focus on delivering/shipping the product
Embraces and develops based on devops software engineering principles
Works with a focus on automation of infrastructure, configuration, and code
Acts to provide documentation of architecture, procedures, outages, and incidents
Effectively understands and can communicate risks, objectives, and trade-offs to the project
